Gianna Papa Comes to Mulligan's
Foster native and future golf superstar Gianna Papa came to Mulligan's Island with her sister and father today to get in a little warm up work before heading down to Augusta, Georgia for the national finals of the Drive, Chip and Putt Championships. 8 year old Gianna qualified for this all-star competition by winning regional events at Pinehills and the Country Club (Brookline) as part of a string of 30 victories on the US Kids Tour.
After interviewing with WJAR's Joe Kayata, Gianna got down to business and put Golf Academy Director Todd Campbell's Trackman system to the test. She belted some drivers and learned about her swing path and club head speed. Beside the cool electronics, Gianna was excited to be inside on a cool damp day.
Even little sister "Vinny" is an accomplished golfer. She recently made the home page of the US Kids website with her trick flop shot over her Mom's head. Check it out!
Check back her for more info on Gianna's trip to Augusta and her exploits with the touring pros. Everyone at Mulligan's Island wishes Gianna and her family the best of luck in the competition and the most fun she has ever had!
